Therapeutic Harp Music

Louise Bell - Wednesday, March 15, 2017

I am delighted to be studying in the International Harp Therapy Program, recently completing the first of 5 Units. This enriching course is run by the remarkable San Diego-based Christina Tourin and a wonderful team. Each student is assigned a mentor: a graduate of the course who offers ongoing support and feedback via email and Skype. The material is inspiring, expanding and informative, with wonderful music, books, articles and videos: all designed to enhance the nurturing music and care we offer at the bedside. Inspirational Bali

Louise Bell - Tuesday, August 09, 2016
My beloved Dave and I recently spent 2 glorious weeks in warm, welcoming Bali. What a contrast to the bracing Southern Highlands winter chill! With a minimum temp of 28 degrees it brings instant tropical relaxation. Although so much has changed over the years on this small and now so much busier island, I was enthralled by the traditional/modern, East-meets-West flavour, in places like Ubud. One evening we savoured the excitement of the Kecak [Monkey Dance], accompanied by powerful rhythmical chanting, and the riveting Fire Dance, where the entranced man kicks through burning coconut shells in bare feet. A few nights later we enjoyed one of the many restaurant bands with Indonesian players performing Western rock classics, such as Pink Floyd and Eagles, with the note-perfect original lead breaks. Delicious ~ and the food was great too!
