A piano teacher since 1995, Louise enhances the students’ joy of musical discovery with individually tailored programs, cultivating a balance between aural and reading experiences; structure, and free and fun exploration. Beginners enjoy singing, rhythm games and a gentle introduction to reading through writing out their piano music in rainbow colours.

More advanced students play a rich repertoire from the classics to popular and blues. Improvisation techniques are developed and composing is encouraged. Louise also teaches voice and folk harp. For 12 years she taught at the dynamic Powerpoint Music, Bowral.

From 2012 - 16 she taught an exciting percussion program at Bowral Public School for class groups playing djembes, marimbas, glockenspiels and many other fantastic instruments, including the human voice! Inspired by the Indian tradition of speaking the tabla rhythms before playing, Louise taught rhythm through language in the initial stages. She conducted performances of various original songs and pieces composed for this program, including Starsong, Islands in Time, Sea Storm & Desert Lullaby. Louise says: "My heartfelt thanks go to the many children who brought their enthusiasm, creativity and spirit of musical adventure to our fun sessions; and to all the staff who supported the program."
