Louise Bell

Blessed in a music-loving family, Louise played and studied piano and music theory from an early age. A gifted and versatile musician - performing, composing, recording and teaching - her primary influences are classical, sacred, folk, jazz, ambient and world music.

Louise took up folk harp while completing a Certificate in Sound Medicine with Creative Horizons Healthcare in 2000, a course exploring vibrational medicine and the healing capacities of music. She is a 2019 graduate of the International Harp Therapy Program, and now teaches harp and modal theory, and mentors students, in this wonderful course.

Passionate about music as an agent of transformation, she accompanies her powerful, ethereal voice with a treasured collection of beautiful acoustic instruments: various harps, antique Tibetan singing bowls, handpan, tuned percussion.

Louise performs solo at concerts, ceremonies, workshops, retreats, and various venues such as restaurants and galleries. She entertains regularly with her beloved partner Dave Marett {violin}

at local aged care residences ~ as Ma Belle Duo.

 

Louise has been in a wonderful band, Rapunzel's Party, for 20 years! Six women: soaring vocal harmonies, guitars, flute, harp, keyboard, bass, recorder, tin whistle, and percussion. With an enchanting blend of styles including folk, soul, Celtic, blues and jazz, they entertain with

creative original compositions plus unique interpretations of songs from diverse genres.
